Sony has unleashed its personal communicator device, the Mylo Com2, to the Japanese market. The ‘Com2′ sports additional feature enhancements over its predecessor:
- 3.5-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen display
- slide-out full QWERTY keyboard (back-lit)
- 1GB onboard memory
- Memory Stick Duo slot for additional storage (max 8GB)
- 1.3 megapixel camera
- Wi-Fi 802.11b/g- improved web surfing experience with Adobe Flash Lite 3 support
- AIM, Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, and Skype support
- supported audio files: AAC, MP3, AATRAC, and WMA
- supported video files: MPEG4 and MPEG4 baseline
- included widget support: Google Search, MyContacts, YouTube, Facebook notifier and Wiki News
- RSS and podcast support
Sony has apparently partnered with McDonald’s WayPort service, allowing Mylo users to connect to McDonald’s Wi-Fi spots for free until 2010. The Sony Mylo Com2 is available in either white or black. Should hit Japanese store shelves on March 1 for 35,000 Yen ($326 USD).
