Mariah Carey’s “Touch My Body” music video

Featuring Jack McBrayer (from NBC’s 30 Rock), Mariah Carey’s “Touch My Body” music video is a touch geeky. McBrayer plays a “CompuNerd” (similar to Geek Squad) who is sent to fix Carey’s technical problems. The song is about if she manages to ‘get with you’, you better not “run your mouth and brag” about it. And if there’s a camera present during the “rendevous”, she threatens to “hunt you down” if videos of her appear on YouTube. Scared yet? Yeah, I didn’t think so.

Anyways, I hate the damn song. For the guys, I suggest you watch it with the volume off. You’ll still enjoy it. Woot for Mariah! =)

Jet powered Dodge Caravan

jet-turbine-dodge-caravan-2.jpg

This ain’t your average soccer mom minivan. The late 90’s model Dodge Caravan packs a helicopter jet engine to its back. The 1,000 horsepower jet engine propels the van down the 1/4 mile in 11.17 seconds (1/8 mile in 7.65 seconds @ 96 mph). Its top speed is 113 mph because the rear axle ratio has been adjusted yet. Not bad for a minivan, but to be honest, though, I’m not that impressed. I guess, I was expecting fireworks. I wanted to see this thing zip down the track. However, this thing does spit out fire! Check out the video.

The ‘fire spitting’ is purely for show. It’s done by spraying fuel into the jet’s exhaust. The owner of the project is Chris Krug, who works in Government surplus; hence, how he got the jet turbine. He spent $17,000 in modifications. Chris built the monster after being on the TV show “Junkyard Wars,” where he built a jet powered tricycle with a jet engine made from an old truck turbocharger.

Well done, Chris. Well done.

Mooon+

mooon.jpg

The Mooon+ looks like your ordinary touchscreen phone except this one has a trick up its sleeve. The mouth piece (the mic you talk into) is detachable for when you need to go hands-free. The detachable mouth piece is Bluetooth so there is no wire to get in your way. Unfortunately, that’s all the information I have regarding the Mooon+ concept. It does look like a cross between an iPhone and PSP. Some say it looks like a Blackberry Pearl. You make the call.

The Mooon+ is designed by Sunman Kwon.

But-On Koncept: top loading microwave

but-on-koncept-1.jpg

The But-On Koncept is a top loading microwave that is centered on simplicity. It sports the regular features of a standard microwave, like it heats up your food. Except, this thing takes and ejects your food vertically. It should also be a space saver as it doesn’t require you to clear space in front of it for an opening door. When it is done heating your food, the top lid opens and your food ‘twists upward’ for you to take. The But-On Koncept can also be used to store food, with its temperature control system. Too bad it’s only a concept at this point.

The endlessly flowing Zig Zag chair

zig-zag-chair.jpg

The design concept behind the Zig Zag chair is to create a drawing figure without lifting your pen. The chair “flows endlessly” like the infinity symbol. Made from strong aluminum alloy, the Zig Zag chair is surrounded by a layer of foam that is supposedly very comfortable. The designers used a swiss technique that allows for a soft seamless velvety surface. The exact size of the chair is 31.5″ x 33.5″ x 23.6″. I wonder what the weight capacity of the chair is?

The Zig Zag chair is available via Deeply Madly Living. You’ll have to pre-order one for the Spring 2008 release.

Kodak Elite Vision KTEL-30W

kodak-ktel-30w-elite.jpg

And you thought Kodak only made photography products. Kodak and Kaga Japan have teamed up to create the Kodak Elite VIsion KTEL-30W. Essentially, it’s an OLED TV sporting a 3″ wide screen, 320 x 240 pixel resolution, and 3.5 hours of viewing time. The KTEL-30W is a mere 8mm thick, so this puppy is pretty thin. It weighs 64 grams with the battery installed. Unfortunately, the speakers are mono sound, so don’t expect much audio wise. Plus, with the pretty pathetic resolution, I doubt it’d be worth watching anything on it. The exact dimensions are 67.5mm × 88.5mm × 8mm.

If you’re still interested, the Kodak Elite Vision KTEL-30W hits store shelves in Japan in late March for 29,800 Yen ($285 USD).

Update: Apparently, the KTEL-30W also has a built-in 1Seg TV tuner.

Gigabyte M700 UMPC

gigabyte-umpc.jpg

Not quite as rugged as the Panasonic Toughbook, the Gigabyte M700 UMPC is more consumer friendly. The M700 Features a 7-inch touchscreen display (1024×600 resolution), 1.2GHz Via C7-M processor, 2GB of RAM, up to 60GB of hard drive space, GPS, WiMAX-capable ExpressCard, and two web cams. The The Gigabyte M700 weighs a mere 1.43 pounds and comes pre-installed with Windows Vista Home Premium. No QWERTY keyboard, so I assume it’ll have an on-screen one when the need arrives to do some typing work.

Pricing or availability details weren’t released.
