The fine folks at Akihabara News got their hands on the Sony Mylo 2. You can read my previous post on the Sony Mylo Com2 here for the full specs on the device. The Mylo 2 looks more compact than it does in photos. Akihabara reports that the device’s navigational stick is awkward to use and videos are only played back in 320 x 240 pixels even though the Mylo’s screen resolution is 800 x 480 pixels. Furthermore, the built-in camera is worthless apparently. Sony decided not to use a real image sensor in the Mylo (why, Sony? Why?). Fortunately, however, the Sony Mylo 2 is pretty speedy, as seen in the video. Web pages seem to load in a reasonable time. This isn’t a cell phone by the way. Think of it like a souped up Sidekick, minus the phone.
Similar to the Lawnbott, Husqvarna’s Solar Powered Automatic Lawnmower will mow your lawn for you will you sip your lemonade and laugh at your neighbors for being less ‘1337′ than you.
However, unlike the Lawnbott, the Husqvarna lawn mower is both battery and solar powered, capable of charging itself in 40 minutes for 40 minutes of work on its battery alone. On a sunny day, its solar panel will provide 50% more mowing time according to Husqvarna. The lawn mower can cut up to 2,300 square meters of grass and can be time programmed to begin work on certain hours or days of the week. You can also set the perimeter of the lawn (so it doesn’t cut your neighbor’s grass) by laying a metal wire around the edge of your backyard or front lawn. Its on-board sensors can detect the wire preventing it from traveling beyond it. Best of all, since this thing lacks a gas powered motor, it should be nice and quiet.
The Husqvarna Automatic Solar Powered Lawnmower costs £2,000 ($4,000 USD). Megawhat.tv has a video demonstration of the robot lawn mower.
If you enjoy talking on your cell phone while laying down, check out the purCushion. Think of it as a Bluetooth hands-free head pillow. As long as you have a Bluetooth equipped phone, you can chat and snooze at the same time. Its ergonomic design will ensure you chat comfortably. The 26-inch cotton velvet pillow has a built-in speaker and microphone. It also features several buttons for control, allowing you to easily pair your phone with the purCushion and answer phone calls. Its battery lasts 300 hours of standby and eight hours of non-stop talking.
The purCushion costs about 350 Euros, about $536 USD at Urban Tool.
The Asus MS71 looks like an elongated wireless mouse. In fact, it looks so bulky you’ll be scratching your head at its ridiculous size. However, if you look closer, the Asus MS71 also transforms into a thumb drive. The bottom portion of the ‘mouse’ detaches (like the Mooon+) to reveal the flash drive. No idea on the size of the drive, but the mouse itself is wireless laser with a scroll wheel. Pricing and availability are unknown at the moment.
The MPIO V10 Personal Media Player is capable of playing back just about anything. Its 3″ 16:9 WQVGA (480 x 272 pixel resolution) touchscreen display can playback AVI, WMV, ASF, MP4, DivX, DAT, VOB, TS, and MPEG video files. For audio, you can expect MP3, WMA, AAC, OGG, and PCM support. If you have photos you want to display on the V10, it’ll support JPEG, BMP, GIF, and PNG files. It includes 8GB of on-board storage with an available microSD card slot. The MPIO V10 also includes a FM tuner, dictionary, and TV out. The player is running Windows CE 5.0 Core as its OS. The player itself doesn’t look half bad with its metallic finish.
It measures 102.8 x 54.3 x 15.4mm.
Full video codec and audio support info after the break.
Ever wondered what the cockpit looked like in the Airbus A380? If you aren’t aware of what the A380 is, it’s a double-deck commercial air jet that boasts 50% more cabin space than the Boeing 747. It’s just a giant airplane.
The 360° view of the flight deck is pretty amazing. I’m shocked to see that this thing is flown by joystick. No traditional flight yolks? Seeing all the computer wizardry housed inside the A380 cockpit brings a smile to my face. This just makes me want to fire up Microsoft’s Flight Simulator.
