The Motorized Monocycle, made in the Netherlands, is one big skinny rubber wheel with a seat and handle bars housed in the center hole. However, only the outside wheel rotates, which propels the rider forward. Its fiberglass frame is connected to an inner steel frame with a centrifugal clutch to engage a 67-inch diameter outer flywheel that actually makes contact with the ground with a rubber tire. The Motorized Monocycle can reach speeds up to 25mph, all thanks to its 31cc, four-stroke 1.5 horsepower motor. Unfortunately, you won’t be doing burnouts in this thing.
Not quite the same monocycle, but I found a similar one, so you could get an idea of how it runs:
The Motorized Monocycle can accomodate up to 6′ 3″ persons, with a maximum seating capacity of 275 pounds (110 pounds minimum). The handle bars are equipped with a finger throttle and brakes. The Monocycle can run for two hours on a half gallon tank of gasoline.
You can leave your jumper cables and bulky jump starter machines at home. The Porta-Jump makes reviving your car’s dead battery a snap. Simply connect the device to your car’s cigarette lighter and it’ll charge the battery in about 10 minutes — all while you stay inside your car. No need to stand outside along side of the road or out in the rain. It’s safe and easy to use. Unlike other battery boosters that you eventually throw way, the Porta-Jump recharges itself as you drive your car, so you can use it over and over again. It can easily charge any battery up to 12V. It has a built-in “smart chip” that can detect whether or not the battery you intend on “boosting” will accept a charge.
It measures about 3 x 3 x 2.5 inches and comes in a nylon pouch so you can stash it safely in your glove box. It costs a cheap $20 at JCWhitney. Not bad.
The classic flash game, “Defend Your Castle” from XGen Studios is coming over to the Nintendo Wii as a WiiWare title. Unlike the flash version, the Wii version gets 4-player multiplayer, enhanced physics and particle effects, as well as an overhauled look. Of course, control is via the Wiimote, which acts as the mouse. Here’s the trailer:
If you aren’t familiar with the game, the object of Defend Your Castle is to prevent the stick figure enemies from reaching your castle. Failing to do so will cause damage to the castle. The enemies come in “waves” — which start out easy but the difficulty ramps up as you successfully clear each wave. You can upgrade your tower with archers and wizards to help you withstand the onslaught.
Here, just go play the flash version. It’ll all make sense. Just don’t blame me if you lose precious work time.
From Etsy seller and video gamer, PixelatedCreations, comes the wooden Pac-Man Picture Frame which stars Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde.
The frame is wooden and painted with black acrylic paint. The decorations are plastic fused beads.
Each frame comes with a wooden post that inserts into the back of the frame to stand. Four metal clips and two cardboard pieces allow for a picture to be inserted into the frame and held into place.
The frame is 8 inches by 8 inches and the picture spot is 3.2 inches by 3.2 inches.
The Pac-Man Picture Frame costs $10, so you better hurry and snag one. She only has 2 in stock. Be sure to check out her other perler bead creations that she has for sale at her Etsy page.
Riding your bike out at night is pretty dangerous, especially if you don’t wear reflectors or other bright clothing. We’ve seen the Turn Signal Biking Jacket, but that jacket isn’t necessarily for sale. So, what’s a better alternative? Check out the 360 Degree Visibility Pedals from Pedalite, which is essentially pedal lights for your bike. The Pedalite 360 Degree Visibility Pedals offers 360 degree visibility for bicycles during the day and night. No more getting run over by cars. It is battery operated and can be seen as far as 1km away, from any angle — including the side.
75% of Cycling accidents happen at, or near, a road junction [source RoSPA], where cycles need to be seen from the side. Pedalite pedals help cyclists create their own virtual cycle lane as motorists naturally give cyclists with Pedalite pedals a wider berth and distance, increasing their safety.
