Sitting Chairs

sitting-chairs.jpg

Heh. Get it. Sitting chairs… Not much else to say except it is a design by Lucas Maassen. Sitting Chairs is part of the Design and the Elastic Mind Exhibition at MoMA.

Maassen’s “tableau vivant” of chairs that interact with each other and their setting stands as an example of how designers are choosing to work on groups of objects rather than stand alone pieces.

World’s longest ear hair: eww

Okay, I know. Not really tech or design related, but it’s nice to have a little break now and then. For this break, I’d like to bring you Radhakant Bajpai of Naya Ganj, India, the world record holder for having the longest ear hair: almost 10 inch (25 cm). In fact, that’s double his 2003 record of 5.19 inches.

Gross. Well, he does shampoo and comb it, so I guess, it’s well groomed at the very least. Sadly, Bajpai, 50, is upset that other people and his government aren’t giving him the “respect he deserves” as a Guinness Record holder. Poor guy.

Cat Pencil Sharpener: MEEOOOWWWW

Poor kitty. I don’t know if this Cat Pencil Sharpener is cute or just plain horrible, but if you insert a pencil in the cat’s rear, an integrated sound chip plays a “MEEOOWW” sound. It also has a tray to collect all of the kitty litter…err, pencil shavings.

The Cat Pencil Sharpener costs only £8.50 ($17 USD) at onedeko. So, don’t go sharpening your pencils on your real cat, I’m pretty sure it won’t work. Trust me.

Faucet Buddy concept: watch your water usage

faucet_buddy.jpg

The Faucet Buddy concept is an excellent and elegant design idea that allows you to check on how much water your household has wasted consumed. Utilizing an LCD screen attached just before the spout end, it displays the total gallon usage and the temperature of the water, so you’ll never have to touch scolding hot water ever again.

The Faucet Buddy is designed by Baek Uyeol.
