Want to add a little 80’s decor to your living room? Try adding the Jellio Rubik’s Cube and Lite-Brite Coffee Table to your home.
The Rubik’s Cube is an acrylic table that is an over-sized replica of everyone’s favorite 80’s puzzle cube, that only a select few can solve. You can buy multiple tables and slap them together to make one long coffee table. The Rubik’s Cube Table measures 16 x 16 x 16 inches and costs $600. Hey, at least you don’t have to solve it.
The Lite-Brite Table features 100 oversized, transparent acrylic pegs that light up when placed under a tiny light source, exactly like the original toy. Once you’ve designed your image, a clear cover/lid can be placed over the pegs to form a surface for you to place your drinks, tv remotes, etc. The Lite-Brite Table measures 18 x 18 x 18 inches and costs $600.
Sanyo is claiming the “smallest and lightest XGA projector” title for its PLC-XW60. Sanyo’s PLC-XW60 measures 10.4 x 2.17 x 7.40 inches and weighs 3.6 pounds. The rather “boring” looking projector sports 1024 x 768 resolution, 2000 lumens of brightness, built-in mono speakers, and automatic input detection - offering D-sub, component, and composite as video inputs. The PLC-XW60 is capable of projecting a 100 inch image from 9 to 11 feet away.
The Sanyo PLC-XW60 suggested retail price is $795.00, available April 2008.
A degu is a small rodent like creature closely related to the chinchilla and guinea pig. Apparently, Japanese scientists from the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research have taught a degu how to use a rake to scoop in food. The video below demonstrates the rodent’s ability to utilize the miniature rake to grab food that has been placed just a few centimeters outside its cage. It took 60 days of training before the degu became a raking pro.
One of the disgusting things I often see people do is lick their fingers to flip a page, say in a magazine or newspaper. I know it’s a “typical” thing to do, but I mean, come on! I don’t want to touch a book that’s been slobbered on.
Enter the Tippi Micro Gel Grips from VWP Inc. The little, ergonomic grips feature “Friction Ridges” that slide over your fingertips allowing you to easily shuffle, sort, and collate paper. They seem to be made out of some sort of flexible rubber/silicon material; however, the Tippi Micro Gel Grips are latex and acid free.
The Tippi Micro Gel Grips are cheap too, costing about $2.79 a pop at Reliable Office Supplies. Discounts apply if you buy in bulk. Blue, red, or green are the available colors.
No more spit, so stop licking your fingers people!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, another Mario post. I posted two yesterday, sorry, but I couldn’t resist posting this one. From the folks over at R Teacher and the Soggy Craft Kids comes the “Mario Across the NES Ages” towel, which depicts our hero in his various forms starting at his 8-bit root all the way to Super Mario Bros. 3 — complete with flower power, hammer, frog, tanuki (raccoon), and the statue suit.
Awesome. I want one. Maybe I should learn how to stitch?

The T-Qualizer t-shirt has an embedded sound sensitive equalizer that can dynamically react to sound, thanks to its Electro Luminescence panel and wide spectrum sensor that is able to detect a music’s rhythm, frequency, and beat. Pretty cool. The shirt is powered by a lightweight, durable, battery pack that can withstand a wild night out.
Perfect for the attention whores. Watch the T-Qualizer in action, with some Lupe Fiasco track:
