Mega Buster: f*cking awesome

Kevin, aka ‘craineum‘ at Destructoid, wanted to be Mega Man for Halloween. But, there was one problem. He’s too old to go trick-or-treating. Thankfully, he has a son he could dress up as Mega Man. So, using a plastic Tupperware pitcher, blue fabric, some LED lights, and a glob of hot glue, Kevin utilized his engineering leetness and equipped his son with a replica of Mega Man’s f*cking awesome Mega Buster.

Eyemagnet Motion Detection: Virtual Dressing Room

Like most guys, I hate shopping. I don’t understand the enjoyment women experience when shopping. For example, buying clothes. I’ve seen ladies practically carry a full laundry load of clothes to try on in the fitting rooms, spending hours trying on racks of clothing. You hardly see that with guys. The reason. We don’t like fitting rooms! We’re men, we know what we want! Regardless, the Eyemagnet Motion Detection, which is currently deployed in New Zealand’s largest clothing retailer, Hallensteins, aims to change how men shop for wardrobe. The idea is to use a large screen display and a camera to allow guys to “try” on clothes quickly by utilizing hand gestures. It’s a virtual fitting room with no need to take any clothes off. Video after the break.

Mophie iPhone ‘Juice Pack 3G’: extends your battery life

If there’s one thing I hate about my iPhone, it has got to be its crappy battery life. Don’t get me wrong, I love my iPhone, but if I get the 20%, and sometimes 10%, battery life warning on a daily basis something ain’t right. Of course, the latest iPhone firmware updates helped a bit, but I should still be able to surf the net in 3G and listen to music all day without having to worry about finding a power outlet. So, thankfully, Mophie is stepping up to the plate with their iPhone “Juice Pack 3G”.

BioShock 2 trailer

It appears that 2K Games snuck in some extra content into the newly released PS3 version of BioShock. Upon beating the game, PS3 players unlocked a hidden trailer of BioShock 2, which will be titled “BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams”. The trailer shows a Little Sister (which no longer looks “little”) staring out to see while clinging onto a Big Daddy plush toy. Then, a city erupts out of the sand. Can’t wait for the Xbox 360 version. Video after the jump.

Towel Cakes: deceivingly delicious

It’s lunch time! Well, for me it is (west-coast time). What better way to kick off lunch than to stare at these deceivingly delicious towel cakes. At first glance, they look like sugary heaven, but unfortunately, they’re nothing but 100% colored cotton. I really don’t see the purpose of these, unless its some kind of mean joke to an obese friend. Who would make such a mean thing?

The Sticky Note Experiments: Post-it Notes Slinkies

Brought to you by the same folks that started the whole Diet Coke and Mentos craze that you’ve probably seen all over the Internet, EepyBird is at it again. Instead this time, it’s called the “The Sticky Note Experiments”, where they make Slinkies out of Post-it Notes. I have no idea how they even came up with it, but it’s definitely one colorful display of office boredom. One more video after the jump.

iBasket: futuristic laundry basket

Designed by Guopeng Liang for the Electrolux 2008 Design Lab competition, the iBasket is essentially the laundry hamper/machine of your dreams. The iBasket simply requires you to stuff the basket with your dirty filthy clothes and walk away. The futuristic laundry basket will then begin washing and drying your clothes automatically once a certain amount of load (weight) is reached. Yup, that’s right! The iBasket also doubles as a dryer! No more separate machines! The best part is that the iBasket is equipped with Wi-Fi and will wirelessly notify you through a message to your PC (IM, email, SMS, etc) that your underwear is clean and ready for pickup.
