Kyle Downes, an Australian and woodwork master, decided to go a little geeky with his latest project. Instead of making a boring, ordinary table, he decided to make a NES controller/coffee table/storage box. Believe it or not, the table-sized controller is functional as can be seen in the video below. This is certainly no amateur job.
Remember the NES and TV made from felt? Well, check out these weapons made from the same soft material. All of the “weapons” are designed by MP Industries and are all unique. No weapon will be sold twice. The collection includes: a 9mm Glock, katana, medieval flail, AK-47, grenade, sniper rifle, claymore mine, nun-chuck, and a revolver to name a few. My favorite is the pink looking P90, which looks bad ass!
Too bad the only damage these things will do is…well, nothing. =)
So, what do you do with all of that folders and file icons cluttering your desktop?
Make art of course. The readers of Gizmodo sent in their entries for the desktop clutter art contest. Pretty cool. First place went to Damien Nozay’s Purple Tentacle.

Taking reality and mixing a little bit of ‘electronic pixels’, the Pixel Pour is found in New York City’s Lower East Side. The creator is unknown, but is a rather clever piece of artwork that utilizes a street pipe to create a “wonderful instance of hybrid” reality.
Made from hand dried felt, Crafster member blueblythe is the mastermind behind the ‘plush’ NES. Taking two weeks to complete, the Plush NES comes included with a game controller and light gun. It also includes two game cartridges: Super Mario Bros. 3 and Duck Hunt. Humorously, the game screen is interchangeable to reflect both games. Simply remove the “game screen” and affix the appropriate screen for the game you are “playing”. Even the controller and light gun are “pluggable”.
FATS stands for Fitness Achievement Technology System. Designed by students at the Utrecht School of Arts in the Netherlands, FATS are a pair of shoes that feature LED lights and embedded motion sensors that alters the color and appareance of the shoe when movement is detected. A glass fiber yarn woven on the outside reflects the light from LEDs, offering several different visualizations by running or walking. The purpose is to motivate kids to get off of the couch and start exercising. Interestingly, secret visualizations can be unlocked depending on the amount of exercise the child has accomplished.
