LEGO V8 engine

Legos are awesome. First there was the Lego Bikes and now there’s this freaking awesome V8 engine made entirely from Lego. Using a Lego Technic kit, it took about 4-5 months to complete. And it’s a masterpiece! According to barebos, the creator, the ‘engine’ is modeled after a Ford V8 and runs on one geared motor. Unfortunately, the motor has little to no power, so the engine can only rev just a tiny bit. It’s made from Lego, so what’d you expect? It still looks good, though. All he has to do now is build a car to put the V8 in. Video and gallery after the jump.

Reset Cups: Alt, Ctrl, and Del Key Cups

Imagine if you could pluck off your keyboard keys and turn them upside down to use as a cup. Imagine no more. From Taiwanese design firm MOD Design, the Reset Cups resemble the infamous “Alt+Ctrl+Del” keyboard keys made popular thanks to Microsoft Windows. The Reset Cups are made from porcelain and come included with a saucer tray that have the imprint of a circuit board. Who said geeks don’t drink tea?

Jasmine herself said “This year, Americans will drink more than 30 billion single-serving bottles of water. In the course of our busy lives this year, we will throw out more than two million tons of polyethylene terephthalate plastic bottles – an unintended byproduct of our everyday convenience.”

Chewing Gum Sculpture: chewing gum for art

Created by Ally Rosenberg, this piece of art is made up of a thousand pieces of gum. Ally Rosenberg gathered up 50 of his friends to chew the gum he would later use as the ’skin’ for his artwork. Although the gum structure looks like an old man, it was actually inspired by a woman Ally Rosenberg had met in a pet shop. When asked about the woman, he said “She would probably not be very pleased with the result but I’m proud of it.” Now look at the picture and think, would ANYONE in their right mind be pleased to be portrayed as that gum structure? I mean, it looks like the Golem in Lord of the Rings.

Super Mario Cake

While the Super Mario Cake is 100% awesome, there’s just one thing I hate about cakes like these. You don’t want to eat them, because their just so…awesome looking. I’d feel too guilty cutting into it. Once you’re done drooling over the cake, play some Super Mario in flash after the jump.
