Towel Cakes: deceivingly delicious

It’s lunch time! Well, for me it is (west-coast time). What better way to kick off lunch than to stare at these deceivingly delicious towel cakes. At first glance, they look like sugary heaven, but unfortunately, they’re nothing but 100% colored cotton. I really don’t see the purpose of these, unless its some kind of mean joke to an obese friend. Who would make such a mean thing?

The Sticky Note Experiments: Post-it Notes Slinkies

Brought to you by the same folks that started the whole Diet Coke and Mentos craze that you’ve probably seen all over the Internet, EepyBird is at it again. Instead this time, it’s called the “The Sticky Note Experiments”, where they make Slinkies out of Post-it Notes. I have no idea how they even came up with it, but it’s definitely one colorful display of office boredom. One more video after the jump.

Ampel Pong: play Pong on the streets

Invented by Mireia Subirana, a student at UDK Berlin, “Ampel Pong” is practically a game of Pong for the streets. Designed to be played by pedestrians waiting at a red light, the game is projected on the crosswalk and the paddles are controlled by the ‘players’ standing on each end of the street. The paddle follows the player as he/she moves side to side on the sidewalk. Interestingly, cars that pass by are treated as obstacles, causing the ball to reflect (or bounce) back. This post wouldn’t be worth anything without videos, right? Videos after the break!

Drawdio: noise making pencil

The Drawdio is essentially a pencil with a musical synthesizer attached to it. The synthesizer uses the conductivity of the pencil’s graphite to generate different sounds with each stroke. Some may call it music, I call it noise. Either way, it’s a kinda cool toy, although it can become annoying real fast. The Drawdio runs on a AAA battery for many hours of digital noise. Nintendo DS Lite cases

From Etsy seller Janis13, comes the Classic Nintendo DS Lite Pouch Pack. The pouches available come in two forms: the classic NES controller and the old-school Nintendo Gameboy. They are both for sale individually for $13, but if you buy them together it’ll only cost you $21 — that’s a $5 saving. I have a feeling these pouches will sell out quickly, so you might want to pounce on these if you’re interested.
