iPhone controlled R/C car

18 year old Josef PruĊĦa and his brother of Czech Republic have managed to engineer a method to control a remote controlled car with the Apple iPhone 3G. Using an iPhone 3G (and its accelerometer), OSCemote, Max/Msp, and the Arduino microprocessor development kit, Josef was able to create an iPhone app that features “five buttons, four of them you can use for traditional driving, and when you press the last one, it unlocks the accelerometer” allowing the control of the R/C car by tilting the iPhone.

Man rides Moped while eating noodles

Not sure if this was just a one-time stunt or if the Taiwanese man regularly eats while riding, but it appears the police in Zhanghua are looking to fine the man, that is, if they can find him.

In case you were wondering what the man says in the beginning: “These noodles smells really good, but I am riding the motorbike, what should I do? Whatever!”

I’m impressed. Both for his riding and chopstick skills.

Table-sized NES controller

nes-controller-table-1.JPG

Kyle Downes, an Australian and woodwork master, decided to go a little geeky with his latest project. Instead of making a boring, ordinary table, he decided to make a NES controller/coffee table/storage box. Believe it or not, the table-sized controller is functional as can be seen in the video below. This is certainly no amateur job.

The blueprints can be found on Downes’ blog.

Crysis LEGO demonstration

So, what happens if you mix LEGO and Crysis together? You get a fun little first-person physics sandbox with flying and falling bricks. One question though. Where are the bullet holes?

Shopping…the cool way

If you thought grocery shopping was boring, watch the video below. Shopping for toilet paper and cereal never looked so fun. Apparently, the video is an advertisement for Max Havelaar, a non-profit foundation organization promoting Fairtrade. I wonder how many takes it took to film the video?

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some grocery shopping to do…
